About Oman Highway Design Standards (OHDS) Guardrails
Oman Highway Design Standards are Design criteria based on American specifications – AASHTO and consist of a detailed list of considerations to be used in negotiating a set of road standards. These include resource management objectives, environmental constraints, safety, physical environmental factors (such as topography, climate, and soils), traffic requirements, and traffic service levels, etc. A-1 Fence in Oman follows Oman Highway Design Standards volume 17. In OHDS or Oman Highway Design Standards Guardrails, either an i-beam post or an UPN 120 which is a C Channel post is used. There are 2 types of posts. The two types of posts are a strong post & a weak post. The beam of the guardrails can be a W-Beam or a Tri beam. Tri beams are mostly used on bridges. The beam is hot dip galvanized with a GSM of 550 on each of the sides.

OHDS or Oman Highway Design Standard Guardrails prevent vehicles from going off the road and falling off cliffs or entering the wrong direction. This prevents the drivers and also the pedestrians from fatal accidents. Accidents where vehicles inadvertently leave the road and enter the wrong direction are prevented by Oman Highway Design Standard Guardrails. Guardrails by A-1 Fence Oman which are designed as per Oman Highway Design Standards can also be placed in medians between traffic lanes or in conjunction with medians to divide opposing directions of travel on two-way roads. This avoids traffic jams and vehicle collisions or accidents on a very large scale.
The beams and post are hot dip galvanized which improve the life of Guardrails. The beams and post can remain undamaged up to 10 years.

The OHDS Guardrails are Capable of withstanding high impacts of vehicles during accidents. They keep the driver safe from falling off cliffs or entering the opposite direction.
The galvanized iron prevents the guardrails from rusting & corrosion even in extreme corrosive environments.
